About Us

Hilburn Academy, part of the Wake County Public School System in Raleigh, is the district's only PreK-8 school. Hilburn embraces a STEAM philosophy that integrates Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics across all areas of learning. Through project-based learning, the Engineering Design Process, and authentic real-world experiences, students develop the skills necessary to thrive in college, careers, and life.

Our unique PreK-8 structure fosters meaningful relationships, leadership opportunities, and a strong sense of community. Students engage in hands-on, interdisciplinary learning experiences that promote the 4Cs- Collaboration, Communication, Creativity, and Critical Thinking- while developing the confidence and adaptability needed to solve complex challenges. Supported by dedicated educators, engaged families, and a vibrant PTA, Hilburn Academy provides an innovative and inclusive learning environment where every Hawk can soar.
